Bereavement Counselling Placements
Hospice care awareness days for health professionals
The days give attendees the opportunity to ask questions about the Hospice, to existing staff members, as well as the possibility for students to meet additional learning objectives of their respective academic courses.
Our ‘Hospice Care for Health Care Professionals’ day will cover the following topics and will include a tour of the hospice (where numbers, patient confidentiality and IPC precautions allow).
- Death, Dying and The Philosophy of End of Life Care
- Guiding national principles/ standards and priorities for End Of Life Care
- An overview of the Hospice Movement & model
- Identifying End of Life – case studies
- Rehabilitative Palliative Care
- An overview of Symptom Management, pain assessment, JICs medications at end of life
This day includes some highly emotive topics and discussion around symptom management and death and dying. Please consider in advance of booking, whether the content might upset you and what support you have within your workplace or learning institution, should you need it.
