All about Blind Design, our Fire Walk sponsor

Blog supplied by Blind Design

Established in 1989, Blind Design is an independent local business dedicated to the manufacture, supply and installation of blinds, shutters, awnings and curtains.

Covering all of Sussex, and parts of Surrey and Kent, the business has grown over the past 36 years to a point where we now have 15 members of staff covering roles that include installation specialists, consultants and blind technicians.

Our Eastbourne factory produces the majority of our product range, with most components and fabrics sourced from the UK. We also work closely with our partner companies to ensure we remain at the forefront of innovation and technology, launching our most recent products, ‘Urban Shutters’ and ‘Shutter Lite’ shutters in September of 2024.

These fantastic poly vinyl silk shutters offer both a framed traditional style shutter (Urban) or a clip-on shutter (Shutter Lite) which requires no drilling or screws. With all components being made in the UK and both styles being manufactured here in Eastbourne, not only are they a great alternative to a wooden shutter but also a locally produced product, which is rare in today’s world!

The Blind Design showroom, also located in Eastbourne, offers our customers a friendly and personal service, giving them the opportunity to view and experience our comprehensive range of window coverings. Staffed by experienced personnel with an accumulative experience of over 100 years, our team is able to give advice on the best solutions for your windows.

If you are unable to come to us, don’t panic, we offer a free no obligation home visit service where we will visit you with a vast range of sample fabrics, shutters and, where possible, demonstration blinds!

With local being at the heart of our business, we are extremely proud to be supporting St Wilfrid’s Hospice this year for their 2025 Fire Walk.

St Wilfrid’s do amazing work caring for the local community and have supported family and friends of our employees here at Blind Design, amongst thousands of others locally. We see this opportunity to work alongside St Wilfrid’s as a major privilege and are extremely honored to be sponsoring the Fire Walk this year!
